Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Ordinary Ministers of Communion in the Catholic Church are the bishops, priests and deacons. The term “extraordinary” is used to distinguish lay people who distribute Holy Communion. Parishioners who desire to share the living presence of Christ may become Extraordinary Ministers of Communion. They distribute Holy Communion in the Mass, and take Holy Communion to those who are sick or homebound. There is a required, brief training/preparation workshop. Our parish secretary creates an advance schedule for our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. If you are interested in serving in our parish as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, please call our parish office at (718) 295-6800.
