Lectors

Lectors are members of our parish who proclaim the Word of God in our masses. They are responsible for proclaiming the First and Second Readings, the Prayer of Faithful, and the greeting at the beginning of Mass. We are always in need of lectors. Prospective lectors must undergo lector training. After training, lectors are assigned various readings in the masses they attend on a rotating schedule amongst the other lectors. Lectors are also assigned to read in our special masses throughout the year such as Christmas and Easter masses. If you would like to become a lector at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church, please contact our parish office at (718) 295-6800 for more information.
