FORDHAM LANDING

We have learned that a developer has purchased the land at the bottom of Fordham Road West. The land is along the water, where the University Heights Metro North Station is located, between the Harlem River and the Major Deegan Expressway. Eventually the development will continue north, all the way up The Bronx side of the Harlem River to 193rd (Bronx side along the water) near Target. There will be almost 3,000 new units, with 30% of them slated for affordable housing. There will also be a new school, a Life Science Center and offices, retail, a hotel, a conference center, and community space. The picture above depicts a rendering of the new condos just to the right of the 207th St bridge where it enters The Bronx. We are posting this information because it is always good for our parishioners to know about major changes and developments in our neighborhood.

The image above shows the land where the initial phase of condos will be built (see picture at the top of this page).

The Google Earth image above shows the borders of the entire development. St. Nicholas of Tolentine is on the right with a yellow marker.
